Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 23, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Scripta (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use our websites, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

  • Account and authentication: email address, authentication identifiers, and profile details you provide (for example, through our authentication provider).
  • Content you upload: video and audio files, transcripts, speaker labels, project metadata, and similar materials you submit to the Service.
  • Usage and diagnostics: log data, device and browser type, approximate location derived from IP, pages or features accessed, and timestamps—used to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
  • Billing: when you purchase a paid plan, our payment processor receives and processes payment information according to its own terms; we do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.

How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service (including transcription, storage, and collaboration features).
  • Authenticate users, prevent abuse, and protect security and integrity.
  • Process subscriptions and communicate about billing, service changes, or support.
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.

Service providers

We rely on third-party subprocessors (for example, hosting, database, object storage, AI inference, and payment processing) that process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards. Categories may include cloud infrastructure, authentication, analytics, and payment gateways. Subprocessors may change as we update our stack; we will not sell your personal information as a standalone product.

Retention

We retain information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Certain uploaded media may be removed or expire according to product rules communicated in-app or in plan documentation.

Your choices

Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You may contact us through the channels we provide in the product. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy where permitted by law.

This policy is provided for transparency. It is not a substitute for individualized legal advice. If you need legal guidance, consult a qualified professional.
